Combo hunt

We are going to do a combo hunt in January in Kansas. We expect to see perhaps more quail than pheasants. Whats size shot/shell and choke would you use for this situation? I used #5 Fiochi golden pheasant with a modified choke last year in Neb and did ok on quail there in limited opportunities and was thinking to use the same. I was hoping someone could give me some input that has more experience in this type of hunt.
thanks.

You will likely see more quail at that time. I carry no. 8s and reload with them when a covey flushes for hunting down the singles. Or you can ignore pheasants and choke and load for quail only.

I'd shoot 6's and then have some 8's in your vest. Once you get a covey broken up, put the 8's in to go after the singles. Once you get down working singles I'd put the 6's back in. Just my 2 cents, it's always worked for me.
