I live in Firestone and was just wondering how good the Walk In Access areas are for upland hunting? How are the farmers and ranchers as far as granting permission to hunt their land when respectfully asked? (I'm used to Montana ranchers, they were great!:thumbsup How are the SWA's or State Trust Lands for bird hunting? Anybody out there have a little chunk of land that I might be able to hunt during the week days? It would only be me and the Setter most of the time, but I'm also hoping to get my 14 year old step daughter going on bird hunting too, she's showing enough interest!
I know it's a lot of questions, but I'm new to the front range and really don't know where to start and to top it off nobody I work with or live by and made friends with hunt pheasants, quail, or any other upland game. My 7 month old Setter will be back from his puppy training program in the middle of October and I want to think that by the time the pheasant hunt starts that I might have a pretty good idea of where to successfully hunt some birds?
Any help or suggestions will be very much appreciated! Also, anybody that is in need of a hunting partner like I am, please get in touch with me. I can keep and respect hunting areas and secret spots! I have mine too, lol..... Just not in Colorado!
Thanks for the help!
