Colorado Sharptail

It is a limited season in limited areas. Your best bet, from what I have gathered over the years is up around Hayden, CO. There are quite a few public grounds that hold sharp tail up there. But, I think the season is only a couple weeks long.

the good sharp tail coverts are on private land, from my experience
Columbian sharp tails, yes near Hayden
public land cattle tanks or improved springs are just mud puddles, private land brimming full, that seems to matter, just better forage on private land

Good to know. Thanks for the advice! Just have never really heard much about people hunting them here in CO. We may get bored with doves, so might head up for a hike at altitude!
