Hunted today for the last time this season with my 2 GSPs, 2.5 yr old male and 11 month old female. Finally put one in the bag near the Nebraska border NE of Holyoke. We had one more corner to hit on the way to the truck. Both dogs locked on point so I started over to flush. Before I got close at all the male pounced and jumped back. He reared back with a face full of quills. I got him to the truck and removed a few before he objected, so I ran him to Haxtun to the vet. An hour or so later we were headed home with a single bird in the bag and hopefully an understanding that the mobile pincushions aren’t to be messed with. Tempel Veterinary Clinic near Haxtun is A1.
