Campgrounds in Montana

Someone was talking about where to stay on another thread and I did not want to hijack that thread so I am starting this one. What campgrounds do you know of that are good. This year I am moving up from a truck camper to a 23 foot trailer an I am looking for good places in eastern Montana to stay.

Last year I had the truck camper and stayed in some free spots in city parks and I also stayed at Sparks B&B which was very nice and very friendly. That was $35 a night. I also stayed in the campground in Glendive I cant remember the name but it was off 94 and on the river it was also $35 a night.

I am hoping to stay about a week in each spot and hunt a 100 mile area around the campground as this new setup is nice when parked but a chore to move around. I am looking to hunt all of Sept.

There are several very nice camp grounds around the Ft Peck Lake.
Malta, Glasgow, Culbertson have campgrounds for RV's, trailers.

If your interested in the ones on the lake or would like details let me know.

I have camped at the free camping in the park in Culbertson but I would be interested in any camping spots you can recomend. I am trying to build a list to keep with my hunting log. I went to Ft peck lake three years ago but stayed in an old hotel in town I did not have a camper that year. I saw a lot of pheasants around there but not many sharptails that year. The lake was nice and nice bar resturants on the lake I would consider heading up there again.

The Pines Recreation area on FT Peck has good campsites, clean toilets, tables, fire rings.
A inside electric grill. Nice set up.
In a beautiful area. All weather road. :)

And it's FREE.

There's a nice free campground just East of the dam off hi way 24. (flat lake) on FT Peck Lake.
South on 24, 30 miles or so is Rock Creek State Park, camping and facilities. Rock Creek Marina has supplies. Refreshments.
And about 40 miles South is Nelson Creek. Nice places to camp. Tons of public land around these areas.
