Cottontails are all around my place even though I live in town. Gus the Brittany recently went tearing after one but put on the brakes when I yelled "whoa!" Gotta like a dog that was able to take whoa training. That's my brag.

There's a lot to be said for that. When a dog becomes focused on something and is playing and having fun, obeying a command that comes out of the blue and the dog does it..?..

I had whoa save the live of 2 of my brittany s that got out of our kennels , they were coming running to my call . It was might fault for calling from my yard with the road in front of our house . When they were coming hard I could here a car coming over the hill . The doga and the car where on a collision path when I gave them a loud whoa . They locked up all fours .

Good dog.

Lately I see way more cottontails in town than I do at home. I would guess it is because town has lapdogs and crows and we have coyotes and hawks.
