Best Maps?

So I am fairly new to CO and this is my first post on this forum.

I picked up a new pup and want to try pheasant hunting in CO for the first time. It seems like the like the only secret in this state bigger than where to elk hunt is pheasant hunting!

I have been doing a good amount of research on public & walk-in areas along the Kansas boarder, But I thought I would ask those who know the area better if there is a certain map that I should get that is more reliable than others?

I know in the Wisconsin you can purchase Plot maps from the county. Do they have those in CO? Can you purchase them online?

Welcome to the forum and Colorado. Typically you will hear people talking about Sedgewick, Phillips, and Yuma counties holding the most birds. However, that may not hold true for everyone due to their experiences, but I can tell you these counties host the most WIA (Walk-in Access) or public land in the state. Below I have provided links to the two maps listing public hunting land in Colorado and a link to the Colorado Division of Wildlife. One thing to remember, to hunt public land you must purchase a WIA permit in addition to your small game license.

There are county maps around like you mentioned, but sorry I just do not know where to get them. I used to use some sweet ones when I was a rural milk man back in the day, but they were the dairy's I worked for. Might try calling those county offices and see what they say. Then let us know so I can hook some up too:rolleyes:

I have one for yuma county, Get them at the chamber of commerce. Really handy, Even has all the phone # and addresses
