Best bang for the buck

Hey all, finally heading to the great west/northwest next week for the first time with myself, father and a friend. I wanted your opinions on where to try for the day. If you had one day to hunt what counties would you target? Coming from extreme eastern Iowa. I have never hunted much west of Iowa City, so a new adventure awaits. I've been reading your posts for a couple years now, but wanted some of your honest opinions Thanks!
 
Emmetsburg and Estherville and Spencer Triangle areas. Lots of very good public and don't forget to access some private this time of year. :)
