ashley area or mcclusky?

Hi,haven't been out to north dakota in 5 years,just retired and have a new GSP and want to get back at it.I've been chasing grouse and woodcock,but I love pheasants and now I got the time.Ashley and Mcclusky I've hunted in the past but I hear things have changed since I was last there,numbers of birds down as well as crp.I'm still coming out but any advice on area would be greatly appreciated.Thanks
 
A lot has changed in 5 years speaking of the Ashley area. Lots of row crops not much for CRP. I think you can still do ok if it is just you and the dog. If I was retired and time wasn't a huge factor I would head further west. Not as much corn and soybeans and less posted signs.
 
dont be afraid to pm towns & info guys once posted anybody with google and a town name can dig up these threads any time it makes online scouting simple thats no good...

wait for brood counts u will no more on wear to go...
