Howdy to everyone here. Another newbie here. I have been lurking here for a while now and finally signed up. Now here is my dog and hunting resume.
I'll start with the dogs, from my first to my current one. Springer, Brittany, Golden Retriever, Britttany, Springer and now an English Setter.
Now for the guns. I don't shoot any thing fancy, I use Remington Model 11 my grandfather bought about 1920 (he bought it for Sage Grouse when he was living in Rock Springs, WY) for most of my upland hunting, once and awhile I will take out my Remington Sportsman 48 20 gauge my dad got for me when I was a kid when I am hunting for dove or quail. For waterfowl I take out a 1969 Browning A-5 with a newer barrel that I bought the 1980s when steel shot became the law.
OK, now for the critters I chase. I started hunting in the 1960s. Most of the hunting I have done has been in the northern 2/3s of California's central valley. I hunt mainly Pheasant, Valley Quail, Dove, Duck and Geese. In my younger days I also would go to the Sierra Nevada's and chase Mountain Quail and Bandtail Pigeons but I have not done much of that in the last couple of decades.
Due to my poor typing skills, and a job that has nothing to do with computers (which means I have a limited time online) I more than likely will not be a frequent poster here, but I will throw in my 2 cents in every once in a while when my wisdom is needed.
