another newbie

I've been hunting upland birds for 30 plus years. grew up on a farm in western MN so land has never been a problem. We make several trips out there and to eastern dakota's all fall. We were just drawn for the non res waterfowl in SD so were pretty excited. The upland numbers will be down but the waterfowl numbers are going to be off the charts. i've been out in ne sdakota fishing a few times already and from what i've seen the only problem might be too much water, for upland and roosting waterfowl this fall. I'm looking forward to the fall and good luck to all of you this fall and be safe.

Welcome to UPH, you did not tell us about your dog and favorite gun. Please do it will help us get to know you better.....Bob

Welcome to Uph, glade to have you on board. Best of luck to you on your waterfowling this fall.:)

Benelli and a 7 & a 1 year old red lab. young brother will get a taste of for it this fall following his older brother around. looking forward to it. We will be in NE ndakota for the waterfowl opener and in sdakota for the pheasant opener this year as well. then its MEA week and back to Sdakota for a duck and pheasant hunt. Than the around halloween its back to se ndakota for a waterfowl hunt. we'll find time to hunt wminn but by the looks of what i've seen and from talking to my family who still lives out that way things aren't looking too good. they had up to 2 inches of rain again last night. this is going to be a rough year. a late harvest on top of all of this rain following a bad winter has gotten me excited for ducks. we will still chase pheasants in wminn but the best hunting will be late november and december.
