Abraham Lincoln, Story Teller

Lincoln loved stories and told them often. Here's one he liked:

Just after the Revolutionary War, U.S. military leader Ethan Allen was sent to England on a diplomatic mission. To twit him, his English hosts put a likeness of George Washington in the outhouse. When Allen returned from the outhouse the first morning, he said nothing. Likewise the second morning. Finally, at lunch one of the gentlemen at table said, "Well, Allen, what do you think of Washington out there in the privy?" Allen replied, "I think it's an excellent idea because nothing will make an Englishman shit faster than to catch sight of General Washington."
