... in that I was able to take by buddy's eldest out. He's going to be a real outdoorsman; he's so passionate, already at his young age.
While not pictured, he carried his BB gun throughout each field, practicing all safety measures.
Only downside to the day was my shooting. Ugh. I'd been automatic up until this hunt. I actually winged one rooster and lost him in the big block CRP. I saw him running, and didn't have Gunner with me at the time (had my buddy's dog who while on him, eventually lost the track). This is why we only have five roosters pictured. A downed rooster counts towards my limit.
On the positive, we saw LOADS of birds and took our longest tail feather of the season ... 24 3/4".
