Put up two birds at once, only tried for one and connected well. Didn't try for the second, as I knew I'd have a tough time finding the first one. Got some help from a guy and his son, also dogless, finding my bird (nice fat hen), so I pointed them where the second one flew to.
Was only out for a couple hours. I'll try again torrow, was hoping to take my daughter (7), but timing won't work this week. Upside to hunting alone is I actually have success, downside is not hunting with my girl...she's been my partner for three years now. The excitement and questions about everything are worth not connecting.
I'm thinking this may be a good season.
