Marshall Fire- lost 30 years of hunting and fishing gear

Thanks, I’ll check PV out. It might just settle for pre-primed hulls for the foreseeable future. Well, I had a 280 ack that liked H4831/sc and Fed 210s or the match primer…I’m guessing I’ll get the same caliber, but not as certain as the shotgun replacement gauges. Thanks again for the kind...

Marshall Fire- lost 30 years of hunting and fishing gear

Unfortunately my family is one of the 1000 that lost their home last week in the Marshall Fire. Our house was in Louisville, where over 500 were lost. We were out of town for my wife’s mother’s funeral so we didn’t get a chance to grab a single thing. The saving grace is that we drove and have...

    Another vest question

I have the Orvis Pro and the new(er) Pro LT vests. I like them both a lot. You give up the magnetic pocket closure and internal shell loops with the LT, but the shoulder straps are a bit thinner and overall the vest is lighter. For my normal walks, either would do fine, but if I was expecting...

12 ga 3" & 3.5" Waterfowl Steel and 12 ga/20 ga Pheasant Ammo- Front Range CO *SOLD*

I did an inventory of my hunting ammo currently collecting dust. I'm happy to part with this to help someone else with fall around the corner and the bizarre, continued ammo shortage. I'm open to reasonable offers- but for the sake of time, I don't want to piece this thing out and would like...

What do you guys do with the tail feathers?

I use them to tie pheasant tails along with other flies- haven’t bought a tail for fly tying in years. There are plenty of other great feathers to save on a rooster as well. Same thing for pretty much all game birds and waterfowl.

Benelli Ultra Light 20 Gauge- SOLD

There are cast & drop plates and shims. I believe it is either cast on (LH) or cast off (RH). I don’t believe that Benelli offers neutral cast plates. Sounds like drilling another hole in the (steel) plate is how some folks have achieved neutral cast.

    OnX

On the bottom right part of the screen there should be a reticle looking icon, right below the map type-sat/hybrid/topo icon. Hit the reticle icon 1x to identify your location and second time to show you which direction (your phone) is facing. OnX is great for bird and big game hunting as well...

Best ways to pinch birds in a draw?

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have several fields (WIHA) that I’ve hunted over the last 5-10 years. I’ve seen some of the same escape routes used and since I typically hunt solo with my dog, I find that I’m often on the wrong side of the draw/thick stuff/plum thicket (insert any obstacle...

Hunting a field two consecutive days??

I suppose this is more of a two part question for the folks here. Over the last several seasons, I have really been trying to better understand bird behavior and daily "routines" in attempt to try make the most of my time afield- especially as it pertains to the Golden Hour. I seem to walk CRP...
