i like Cabelas Camoskinz which are non-leather and have a criss-cross of rubbery stuff on the plantar surfaces that makes carrying much easier with a lighter grip. if it's cold i put an insulated glove on my forward hand and do my best to keep my trigger/Camoskinz hand warm in the warming pocket

I only hang if it's cool to cold weather. I hang the whole bird for several days, maybe up to five depending on temp.

Thank you for this info. Will be breaking in/training a new (to me) dog, a young adult rescue. Our first hunt. Thinking it will be best to hunt alone this time.
