Welcome. I am a flusher guy so not a lot of help but welcome to the forum. I will say there are a lot of good options so continue to research and get around as many different breeds as you can while trying to make your decision.

Got a pic this morning of heavy frost so for anything not turning yet it will here soon. Talked to a farmer 2 days ago. 3-4 more days of beans and then will roll in to corn he figured. Agree that the next 2 weeks will see more corn shelled across a larger swath of the state. Can’t wait to get there.

Never used Sport Dog but have been very happy with my Garmin Pro 550. Run flushers so the GPS is mostly just ncase somehow we get separated and needed to locate them. Adds a lot of peace of mind.

We chopped silage this past week but a neighbor is combining corn. He plants short date corn early so he can say he was first to harvest every year. The rest of the are is 7-10 days from beans being ready and 3 weeks or so from corn. This is in Ohio.

I agree that I would have no issue getting her out on some birds this fall.

Lots of great advice. Over the years I’ve fed anbout everything mentioned. Have been using Black Gold Explorer now for the last 4-5 years. Have great access here to it and dogs like it and seem to do well on it.
