Bob, I'll second your comment about shooting the hard course. I'll stay on one station long enough to consistently hit the bird(s). Mn Horse and Hunt has some really difficult shots - thats where one can improve their shooting technique, not at the easy stations.

Sporting clay's are easier for me: I can pre-mount, know where the bird is coming from, no wind, feet well balanced/positioned. and no heavy bulky clothes. A lot more variables when hunting and shooting pheasants especially in the winter.
