    Recent dog food experience

The new raw we get is Midwest Legacy BLT. 80$ for 30lb. Our old food, ceased production, was 108$ for 40lb. Try a raw food calculator for you dog, it's generally 2.5% body weight per day. You can always add raw eggs/shells, fish oil, herring, goat milk. I even give my dog duck/pheasant hearts...

    High protein and organ failure?

Any issues on raw food? My dog is allergic to just about everything but meat according to the vet. We always end up with the special ones. Our former food was AAFCO but has now ceased production for unknown reasons. We're now on basically a PMR. Beef muscle, beef liver, beef trachea, beef...

    Pudelpointer and Drahthaar comparisons please

She's done amazing this year. Flawless on ducks in the bog and river. Good on pheasant, but we didn't get many, they're planted and I won't even start or complain because it's where I am and what I deal with. My daughter (9) Wanted her own dog, she has a squirrel killer and a best friend to...

Jeez, I need to take my dog. She hunts hard, but gets distracted. The planted ones we get here are all shot up, guys follow the chicken truck, down the road from me. We didn't find any timberdoodles till after season again. Hard to not pull on them when they scare the shit out of you.

No pheasants yesterday, 15 degrees, we got icy beards. Dutchess did find a rabbit skin/fur for a snack though, saved me a piece of jerky.

    2024 Pheasant Pics/Reports

Off the schneide! Took the daughter out with us in the light drizzle, we stayed near trees, when the sun started popping, I saw a flash of white in the open, my adopted pound dog was full sniff and flushed it, one shot and it went down. Was calling for her to fetch in tall grass and had to hit...

    2024 Pheasant Pics/Reports

I'm heading to a different spot next time out. Lodi was done last week after I heard about the pluckers. I was in Poynette today, guess I'm off to Portage next time. It's getting as bad as duck hunting. Two things I enjoy are getting my goat. I'll try and have a better outlook, but it's been...

    2024 Pheasant Pics/Reports

I've shot at one bird, today I was first in the field then was followed by 5 guys waiting for me to flush them. A woman I know saw 6 trucks, guys wearing orange following the chicken truck from Poynette into Lodi. Basically it's been miserable.

    Thinking of adopting a puppy

The adoption didn't work out, someone applied before us, sadly they're making him a house dog.

    Dealing with stickers

I get the gel and put it on her face and legs before a hunt, the spot treat is after.

    Thinking of adopting a puppy

Last summer we adopted Dutch, horrible past, now she's doing great, fetching ducks, and coming around on pheasant. My wife found an 8 week old, what really looks like a PP at a shelter. This will be my daughter's (9) dog if we're selected. She wants her own dog and we had conversations about her...

    Dealing with stickers

I slather Dutch with this, they glide right out with a brush. Downside, if you use too much, she's greasy for a day. I also spot treat with it on tough ones, put it on drink a beer and they pop right out without ripping fur out.

    Prevent fur loss

She had a full allergy panel, cytopoint didn't help either. She's basically allergic to all veggies and grains. She can have any protein.

    Prevent fur loss

No, we did try it twice with no help. We did some antibiotics as well. I'd look to a dermatologist, but I already spent close to 1k at the vet for testing and meds.

    Prevent fur loss

So I know she has allergies, we've accounted for all of them, besides getting the custom shot that's 250 a month(not gonna happen), she's still itchy. She has a raw diet, pre and probiotic, greenlipped muscle, colostrum, and an all natural allergy pill that I also take. I did weekly baths in...

    Shed hunting

Geez, we haven't found a single one. But we run public land, I didn't get a training kit like I wanted. We should get back out again though, been a few weeks. We've been chasing bumpers in the lake since it's open.

    O/U with a Student Budget

100%. Are you a Snap-On fan? I wanted to send a picture, but it didn't work. It's not tools, a collectable.
