    Winged bird

I shoot all non-toxic. Early season here in Wisconsin I shoot 3" Kent Faststeel #6 out of both barrels. Skeet Choke on the bottom, Improved Choke on the top. As the season progresses, I will shoot #6 bottom, #4 top....same chokes. Then #4 both same chokes. For SD trips, I switch out chokes to...

    Slowing your dog

Right.....he looks at me like, "oh hell no, you are not faster than me and you sure as hell aren't beating me to birds!"

    Slowing your dog

As a lab guy, it has always been a bit of an issue, even with a well trained one. My lab is collar conditioned to set his limits/range left, right, and front with a "tick" of the collar and a "hup" voice command at the same time. By myself, he typically ranges 15 to 20 yards left and right of...

I have had zero issues with anything sticking to them.....you won't need to wear anything over them. They are a brush pant.

    Brush pants with zipper legs

Might not be what you are looking for, but I have been wearing Cabela's Instinct Upland pants for 3 years now, still on the same pair. They do not have zippered legs though. I'm sure you could get them installed. I have yet to be poked, picked, scratched, thorned, briared in them yet. I bought 1...

    Winged bird

All of which can be controlled and improved on by the human! To get one's dog to track (chase) a wounded bird you need to figure out it's prey drive, how to unlock the prey drive and then how to challenge the prey drive through training scenarios/challenges so that the dog wants it more.

    Winged bird

I'd rather have it thick cover if ya need to locate a cripple.....cause they are going to bail into it and not leave.....makes the dog(s) job easier instead of one that is going to run a tactical maze for hundreds of yards crossing up other birds and fresh scent. If you are shooting in thick...

TY. Right! About the only thing that can pull his mind off his stomach is a rooster cackle, a mallard highball, or a tennis ball! I once thought I'd try a test to see which drove him more, a tennis ball or his food dish. I downed him in the center of the yard. Walked his tennis ball to one...

    Ice Conditions in South Dakota

They are taking quads, utvs, trucks, Snobears, wheelhouse shanties on all the bodies of water around me on bigger lakes....sloughs are no issue except where springs may exist, muskrat holes, or current. East river, cental.

    Ice Conditions in South Dakota

I've had no issues.....stay away from close proximity of muskrat houses. A lake I hunted by yesterday had probably 10 full sized trucks and ice houses on it....that was Bowdle area.

    No weekend reports?

That's what I was figuring, wondering. Saw some dirty ditch birds on minimum maintenance roads adjacent to some public but that damn barbed wire keeps me at bay, my dog has 1 speed.....he'd be through it and ripped open before he ever thought twice!
