There is a bird cleaning station between the 2 Marriott Hotels. It is in the back and has a table and trash container. We stay at the Marriott Fairfield which also has a freezer that you can store the cleaned birds in.

The counts in NW Iowa are up around 50 percent from last year so SW Minnesota should have really good hunting.

I hunt around the Aberdeen/Groton area in NE South Dakota. Any indication on number of Pheasants in NE South Dakota.

Pheasant numbers should be published by second week of September. This was from last year. There are 170 established routes, with 149 located within the pheasant range. The 2024 ARS consisted of 169 25-mile routes (1-4 routes/county), of which 148 were located in the ring-necked pheasant range...

There are many public hunting areas from 20-40 miles east of Aberdeen. We hunt around Groten.

I have 4's steel in my 12 gauge because I will also shoot ducks and geese that happen to fly by or if I jump them in a pothole around Aberdeen.

There are lots of Pheasants around Redfield, but very little public land to hunt on.

Aberdeen officially got 2.43 inches of rain this past weekend. Hopefully Groten which is just east of Aberdeen where we hunt also got about the same rainfall.

I just discovered this Forum. I hunt public land around 20-30 miles east of Aberdeen. Anyone know how dry this area is and are there many Pheasants in the area. Thanks.
