Stone Creek chaps like the old Wicks are good chaps except their straps on the chaps are too short. Need to be 6-8” longer. That is why I prefer Dan’s Chaps.
Tried to hunt in Morris, Dickinson and Marion today. Drifts were 4-6’. Never got to walk a field, just couldn’t go anywhere that we have permission on.
Recently found a slightly used Realtree Blaze Upland Coat that is GoreTex. Really like it. Well made with lots of pockets and interior game bag that front loads. Great in cold wet nasty weather.
I have a Beretta 687 12 g Ultralight that I shoot when hunting in grainfields, but I shoot my Beretta 686 20 g if I am hunting anywhere I might run into pheasants and quail. I shoot my 20 better than my 12 just because I am a little quicker with it.
I have had a pair of the Browning Kangaroo Upland boots for more than 15 years. Lightweight and tough, waterproof with light insulation. Had new soles put on them after 10 years. Browning no longer sells these. Orvis was selling a very similar boot so I bought a pair from them as a backup, now...
