    How’s your shooting been?

I never went 24 for 25 but I had only shot 10 shells for my first 9 birds last year with my new model Montefeltro.

    How’s your shooting been?

It's been 30 years or so since I had any trouble shooting. I have missed a few here and there but overall, I seldom miss. I always try and limit myself to shooting a limit of 15 dove with one box of shells. Sometimes I have to break open a second box but not often. Pheasants are pretty easy...

    Recovery Powder

Could be, I had a dog that didn't handle higher fat and protein food. With mine, I am feeding each 2 cups of 30/25. They are 70 and 58 lbs. Once I start hunting hard the male will get 3 cups.

Training your dog to stay closer

Isn't that what I said? Basic Obedience comes first. Doesn't sound like this dog has been through a training program. You can't re-enforce with the collar what the dog doesn't know. The progression is OB, CC, then FF for a basic 3 month program.

Training your dog to stay closer

I wouldn't encourage that if the dog has not been through a basic obedience training program. After my dogs have been through OB, CC, and FF I begin quartering work. It takes 3 people and best started on a football field or open area, not in tall grass. 2 helpers on the sides about 20 yds...

Training your dog to stay closer

Quartering drills, lots of obedience, including the whistle sit. When it comes to training and doing it right, nothing is easy. Training is done in the off season, not in season. So no quick fix.

    Limp dilemma

I would have found a new vet 2 years ago and fixed the problem then. My dog had CCL surgery at 9 and yes it was a long recovery with lots of therapy. But when I decided to buy a dog I took on that responsibility. She will be 12 and is still hunting with no other health issues. Yes you are...

    20 ga Wild Pheasant ammo?

I like light mod on the long shots of 35-40 yds. Every once in awhile out to 50. That's with a Briley extended light mod. On those tighter flushes I take my time and make sure I am on the bird before shooting so I shoot very few close ones.

    Recovery Powder

There has to be side effects to cramming multiple supplements down a dogs throat. I hope people aren't sorry a few years down the road. I don't really give my dogs snacks other than a bite of left over chicken or steak. None of that manufactured garbage.
