You’re right Tommy. Contributed to one divorce. Didn’t matter I did it anyway and no regrets. My ex wife said you love your setters more than me. Thought for a minute and said you know you are right. Fortunately I am married to a much more understanding woman. They are priceless and few and far...

Any field reports from south central nebraska?

You are right about that Tomahawker. Too much scent in one place for the dogs too many targets in the air at one time for the shooter but it sure was something to see.

    Bug Bites

Good luck. Those darn scabbies look like fish hook shaped design just under your skin. Besides having prostate cancer it was the worst experience of my life. As I said I will never ever stay in sub-par motel on a hunting trip ever again.

Bob, unfortunately Nebraska is not what it was once. I have hunted there for 50 years. Their even used to be tons of Pheasant in the southeast not any more but the last couple years they have started to come back a little I primarily go there for quail hunting because when it is right it is as...

Any field reports from south central nebraska?

For what it is worth probably not much but I started hunting the rainwater basin area in the early 70s with my dad when I was a little kid. The area around Shickly and Ong were truly unbelievable and stayed that way thru the late 80s. One day near Ong we went through a big cedar thicket smack in...

Goose is right. No way in this world you can hunt wild birds seven days a week. They will leave. Most people don’t even know the difference. I do been doing it for 55 years Goose maybe longer. But good for the hunting operations. Makes the farmers some money I guess.

    Bug Bites

During the pandemic we stayed in a rather cheap motel in NW Kansas. A long term road construction crew was staying there. I am relatively sure the room and linens must not have been cleaned good. A week later I came down with scabies. I nearly went out of my mind itching and scratching before I...

2025 Season In Pictures - Let's See Them

I am glad you guys are doing good. This is the first year me and my two buddies did not limit or get close to it. Hunting in the extreme southwest. Actually did most of the hunting just across the line in South Dakota. It was not good. Lots and lots of standing corn and flowers. Plus absolute...

Collie. Sorry man It was such a strange year. Never seen anything like it. North Dakota has always been so good to me and I love it. I been fighting prostate cancer for the last ten months. That’s okay not many birds but a good time. Hope the very best for your future hunts. Don’t think I...

SW ND: Lots Of Corn & Seeds Still Up

Chad, I apologize. I would not call you a liar. I would never do that. But I got to tell you. I will not say every year I got a limit but most years we were always close. I hunted in the Dickinson area where you were and it was always sweet. Yeah limited out every year then I lost my ranch...
