We ate the last of our phez a month or two ago, but still have 8-9 sharptail and 5-6 huns in the freezer. Vacuum-sealed, so they're in good shape. Plan to get to them soon, since Sept isn't far off.

CREP is definitely my favorite. But I've done very well on WPA and GPA too. Most GPA's will have food plots planted. Mostly standing corn, which is fine. But sometimes you'll see milo food plots, and I've done well on those. Like dakotasj mentioned above, spending the 8am to 10am time frame...

I hunt in the SW part of the panhandle. Only hunted quail one day, and didn't see a bird. Places that in '15 and '16, the same walks would've produced 5 or 6 covies for sure. Pretty depressing.

Wow that sounds great! I haven't hunted Montana, but I hunt western ND, and if it's anything like that you're gonna have a blast.

That's interesting, the birds that do the death climb and then plummet are usually stone-dead when you get to them. Glad to hear that you flushed good numbers of hens!

I've had mine since '17, and I couldn't be happier. I've got the 26" barrel and I got real lucky with the wood, it's real nice. Just a joy to carry all day.

I was in the Mitchell Cabela's two days ago. Nowhere near as much ammo as the opening week, which was 3 weeks ago now. All the pallets were gone.
