Thanks ! Never been afraid to walk. We have lodging in Lucas but kind of watching bird reports since it really makes no difference to us ( Kansas or Nebraska )
Where we're coming from we have literally no birds so tough hunting is not a problem. We have no plans except to watch the backend of 3 Brittany's for 5 days so no place to go but up !
I'm considering a early to mid January '21 quail/pheasant hunt. Either North Central Kansas ( Russell Cty and surrounding area or Southern Nebraska. Any thoughts or advise ? Traveling from Southwest VA.
Question, a
I just set up my Isportsman account , can someone pls walk me through the process ? Is it used only on walk in properties ? State owned ? Is there a "limit" on the # of hunters allowed to "register" to hunt a particular property?
I absolutely feel your pain ! I don't think the bond can be describe but if you've experienced it there is nothing like it . Your dog can never be replaced but a new puppy is as close as it gets. Sorry for your loss.
Hard to argue against experience ! In Va. we just don't have the "abusive" cover. So far in my 20 yrs or so barbed wire and small sticks ( had to pull a forked stick out of Remi's chest a few weeks ago) she's a hard charger, are the big villains. Bought a chest protector and may get the boots (...
Good question, close friend had a turkey hunt booked but canceled it himself. Knee problem. Your right about the freedoms being taken. As it was once said " if you give up a little freedom for security you have neither " or something close to that. Anyway what about the dog boots ?
The Shepards are certainly herding the sheep ! Thank God the generations prior to us had a spine otherwise we would still be under British rule and I wouldn't have be concerned about traveling to KS to hunt as Class restrictions would forbid it !
I'm curious, would you recommend boots for the dogs ( hunting Russell Cty and likey all surrounding cty's ) non of our dogs have used them. No need here in VA. so would have to get them accustomed to them ASAP.
1 quart hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
Table spoon of dawn dish soap ( cuts the oily residue )
Mix , wash dog , repeat as needed ( until your wife can't smell skunk ) 😅
