We like the humpbacks. Dad has several. He picked a Sweet up a few years ago…this thing is brand new. Don’t believe it’s seen a shell and it’s from the 50’s. Had a Montifeltro out last night and put it together. Gotta say that action is silky smooth.
Early on I would de burr my Setter that evening after a hunt. No more. I’ll wait till the next day and be amazed at what she can get out herself. Then clean up what’s left. Arm pits ears etc.
Switch shells, take off buttpad, or add length, change chokes, take different gun, change clothes, change underwear, enter truck thru passenger door, see shaman
Dad and I got out for a blue sky day. Got blanked at first stop. Got into em at the second. Each got a bird apiece. He was tickled to get one with his Dads old humpback. Saw plenty of hens and few other roosters.
“One day you get no chances for all your struggle. Or, worse yet, you fail chances that you should have seized. Another time you make them all. If you consistently get limits, however, consider making the rules more difficult for yourself. Field sports are not about targets and scores...
Never miss an opportunity to make friends with leo. Particularly a game warden while out hunting. In se Colorado I was drawing a blank. Saw a co changing a tire on side of the road, I pulled over and helped. You bet I asked where I should look for birds and he pointed me right to them...
Antsy last night, her panting breathing kept me up. Took her out at 1 30 am for a leak. Same behavior. I bet I’ve seen her pee over a dozen times today. Went for a morning hunt and she finally seems relaxed. What’s up? In heat? UTI? Kidney stones?
The pheasant leads us inside ourselves to a place we could not reach on purpose.
You can get there from here. The pheasant knows where it is going.
