    License check. Is this legal?

If only.....then I'd be able to afford this Gucci stuff I see posted about all the time! 😄

    License check. Is this legal?

For me, it goes back to the reasonableness of the stop. You can also ask, politely, what is the reason for the stop. I.E. Airmedics example. Various courts have held that law enforcement has to identify themselves and the reason for the stop and the scope of questions/information gathering has...

    License check. Is this legal?

Additionally, the standard for a "stop" is only reasonable suspicion. Probable cause is the legal standard needed for an arrest, a search or a affidavit in support of a search warrant. There are several exceptions to allow for warrantless entries and searches, one of which is the Carroll...

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

Nice report..... sorry to hear about the pup.....I dread barbed wire.....my dog has one speed and that usually doesn't pair well with a barbed wire fence. Fortunately I've been able to keep relatively clear of said problem, one encounter last year that I was able to handle without a vet trip...

    Nails rubbing on toes?

I've seen it on my lab's feet when done hunting hard cover.... more on the front feet than the rear. I assume(d) it was from the cover, never gave it a thought that it was nail related. I usually just put some ointment on it and wrap overnight so he can't lick, cause that will only irritate it...

    License check. Is this legal?

I had the same experience on my 1st trip to SD just a couple years ago. Did the license check and answered a couple of information gathering questions about us by the CO. Then it turned towards helpful information by the CO on some better properties to start on than the one we were on, to going...

    2024 Pheasant Pics/Reports

Pen raised pheasants have the blinders attached through the nostrils which creates large nostril openings. The blinders are taken off before release and don't grow back close. Wild birds have a thin, slit nostril opening. This bird had large nostril openings, indicating it was pen raised and...

    License check. Is this legal?

I think the comparison of the CO to the gestapo or gestapo tactics for performing a license check of persons reasonably believed to be engaged in hunting or to be engaged in hunting is a reach. Even if the CO chose to perform a stop on the vehicle and perform the license check that way, if it is...

    License check. Is this legal?

Again, it goes back to the authority granted them by the state regarding pretextual stops. Probable cause is not the legal standard needed for a "stop". My additional thought is maybe the CO wasn't giving you all the information either, such as maybe he did observe your group in the act of...

    License check. Is this legal?

Every state legislature creates the authority of which it's law enforcement officers can act under within the scope of it's state constitution and the federal constitution. With that, many state legislatures, upheld by the courts, would allow for a "stop" of a person by a natural resources...

    Water in the field...

I keep a 5 gallon water jug cooler with spigot in the truck. I carry 2 20 oz water bottles with squirter tops in the pack and I have a 3 liter reservoir in the pack for me to drink off or refill water bottles. Try Kinetic Hydro30K for the dogs.....keeps them drinking, replaces energy and helps...

    Rex Specs- Again

I just put it on like a paste.....not globs, but not rubbed in. It eventually just absorbs in, so you may have to re-apply. I also use it on his feet and between the toes too.

    Rex Specs- Again

I have zero complaints with the product. Acclimating the dog to them is important as having them on their face is out of the ordinary. No different than getting them used to a collar or a leash. Initially you'll want to have immediate control over the dog to keep them from trying to paw them...
