    Iowa vs Kansas

If they were honest about what they actually might lose in true profit from leaving some edges around everything, then I guarantee you there is a guy on here or myself that would gladly pay that number to hunt those strips. Because the true number is a lot less than you'd think.

    Lots of hunters

Nothing good will last with social media these days. Everybody forgets the consequences of posting those pics so they look cool to their buddies.

    Iowa vs Kansas

When we pay the habitat stamp in SD I didn't mind it at all until you look and see a heavy majority of the funds go to lake projects and boat ramp upkeep👎👎. Hopefully Iowa does a better job of using funds. I would have an issue with one in KS because I have no faith the funds would actually go...

    Opening Day in Kansas

Got 2 "pretty crappy" and one "could of been worse" coming from the 3 groups I talked to that I trust. The "could of been worse" was a long ways from the other 2, those 2 bad reports were within an hr of each other hunting private and wiha. Second hand knowledge though

    2023/2024 Pheasant Hunting Videos

Four years in to hunting your great state now and this Kansas boy still feels like I'm doing something wrong when road hunting 😄

    Emergency Haying in SD

I get it but when you're baling crp and ground paid for walk in that's our money in your bank.

Be careful how you use those dirty words like shelterbelt and slough. Someone with a track hoe is probably listening.

    2023 Resident Opener

I will say that the etiquette, or lack of it, is different in SD. I've had more issues like this in 3 yrs of hunting there than I have had in 30ish years in Kansas. Even in the heydays when Kansas was packed.

    Upland Forecast

Another thing that doesn't get monitored. A high percentage of the forage/habitat that gets baled leaves the county on a flatbed. There's a difference between surviving and lining pockets.

Why is deer hunting so popular?

These kids, mine included, will never know how to hunt, really hunt. And I'm afraid it makes the accomplishments not as grand in the scheme of things. My own experience, and it might be my daughter was just never going to be a hunter but I may have failed her. It took me 2 yrs to kill my first...

Why is deer hunting so popular?

I often think about how my grandpa or even my dad and the distant neighbors they had would have handled the crap that goes on these days with the city folk, deer hunters, and investors taking over our communities. I know my grandpa and his buddies would have never stood for it and probably not...

Why is deer hunting so popular?

It's the silliest dick measuring contest there is. They are great hunters, just ask them. They forget it takes a shooting house, corn piles, cell cams, crossbows and new day muzzle loaders to get it done. Facebook famous.

    2022 pheasant harvest by state

Yeah, it's hard to keep people hunting when it just turns into hiking with no birds. It's down to us idiots that just like to watch their dogs and still have some nostalgic memories we can't let go. It was always more about the dogs, company, God's country and weirdly the sketchy motels and...

    2022 pheasant harvest by state

It's crazy how much the culture has changed. I was at a DU banquet last weekend and there was a four man pheasant trip in the auction and it was the only item that didn't make a reserve bid.

Save your gas. Walk-in is tough enough in November but by January anything that was any good will have been walked a gazillion times.

Do your homework on the bloodlines, if you want a closer foot hunting dog don't buy a puppy from trial lines and get mad when they want to out run you all day. They are great dogs but will try your patience at times. I have them and gsp's and equally enjoy them all for different reasons
