    Kansas season

Got out to central Kansas 3 times this year. Quail were fantastic in the area I hunt this year. On 3 trips I found 39 different covies. Got new permission a couple thousand new acres. Hoping the winter remains mild and the hatch is good. If the stars line up I think 2021 could be a boom year for...

    Hays area??

The farther away from the interstate you get the more success you will have, everyone hits the easy to get to spots.

    Al Gadoury's 6X Outfitters

Why don't you just stop way short of there and do it yourself. I started going out there in 2009. There are plenty of birds in Montana without having to pay to find them. Where I go is just across the North Dakota border. Block management program is fantastic.

Kansas Trespassing Fee for Private Land

Very educational thread, I am an out of state hunter who has been traveling to Kansas for about 13 years now. After this discussion I am going to count my blessings that I have the private ground to hunt that I do. Its not a destination for pheasant hunting but it is a great place to find quail...

Kansas Trespassing Fee for Private Land

I have no problem with people who go to preserves, it’s not for me but to each his own. What I don’t understand at all is driving for hrs to a state that actually has wild birds and then going to a preserve. No amount of explanation will make me get that.

Kansas Trespassing Fee for Private Land

What I have found about Kansas is, the farther east you go the easier it is to get permission. I hunt the western edge of the flint hills region and have had no trouble gaining access to bird hunt, or hunt anything for that matter. Its amazing what some choice Kentucky bourbon and a few steak...

    How's the season so far?

Just got back from a 2 1/2 day trip. Got out there Friday evening in the 35 mph winds but ended up having a great quail hunt. Moved 15 coveys in 3 days. Where I go phez are few and far between. Lots of good dog work.

Believe it or not you can do it solo if the dog minds well. My dogs don't even act like they feel it and you can go right bak to hunting, they will act like it never even happened. Been a hunt saver for me.

    Going thru old pics

A little!! Lol those were the first pics on my old computer. Upgraded and made a slideshow, that pic was always one of my favorites. Not good photography by any stretch of the imagination, but good content!

    Going thru old pics

Actually, initial point was on a covey of huns, ended up finding sharptails as well. This point was a single hun, which for this terrain is very rare. Those little bastards stay together better than any bird I've ever seen. But boy do they hold tight if you get them separated.

    Going thru old pics

Found this one from my first Montana trip in 2012, It was cold and rain/snowy this day. We were riding the Miles City cutoff in South Eastern Montana. We had decided not to hunt that day, so we picked a spot relatively close to civilization to let the dogs out to do their business, all 6 of...

    Opening Weekend

I killed it because the rancher that let me hunt asked me to, I wasn’t in Kansas. I have seen several holes in Kansas but never actually seen a badger.
