    Rainy Day Shotgun Under $500?

I had a new one in ‘20. It was a bit heavier than my ‘52 but not bad. It had a good feel and the fit was good. There were a couple things about it that I didn’t like so it’s gone now.

    Rainy Day Shotgun Under $500?

So Ithaca M37s have only been made in the US. Thought so. Those knockoff variants are not Ithaca 37s.

    Rainy Day Shotgun Under $500?

When was there ever an Ithaca M37 not made in the USA?

    Rainy Day Shotgun Under $500?

Stoeger M3000 is one that I bought for rainy day hunts. Silly really because if it’s raining too much for using my regular guns, I’m probably not going hunting.

Looking into my first double gun!

Browning Citori for over/under & for side/side, I use an Ugartechea, which is no longer made but I’d suggest the Fabarm Autumn is worth a look.

    Opening Fixed Choke?

Take a look online for a used barrel. Ebay or Numrich Arms might help. You may find a barrel already choked Improved cylinder. I was able to find one for my 11-48, although mine isn’t a 16ga.

I Figured Out How To Get 12 Gauge Shells Into Nylon Belt

When I was a kid, I carried a box of shells, sometimes more and banged away at every rooster I saw, in range or not. Now that I’m older and have some self discipline, I only take 6 shells, two in the gun & four in a pocket. I shoot when I’m confident of a hit and some days only see a limit or...

    New strap vest

No. You have to buy those separately if you want them. What it comes with is two pouches already installed. For the price, they could send a couple of common accessories, like the water bottle holder or a pocket with shell loops. Seems well made though and pretty light. Edit: I don’t see...

    New strap vest

I just got a Legacy vest from Final Rise. My first strap vest but I’m optimistic about the freedom of movement it allows.

Walnut vs Synthetic stocks for the uplands

I like the walnut but occasionally a synthetic stocked gun calls out to me.

    Hen! Hen! Rooster!

I’ve never been put off by others except in two instances. 1) my nephew wouldn’t pay attention to where his gun was pointed (usually directly at me) and 2) My friend that wanted his Brittany to act like a lab and would pepper her with shot when she worked out of range. Actually, she was...

    Live Pheasant Photos

Makes me want to get a real camera to be able to shoot good pics like these. I wouldn’t know a good camera from a bad one.

    Stock Duplicator???

That’s looking amazing! I have a rough blank for a 20 ga single shot and I’m nervous about starting on that, I’d probably get some sort of nervous twitch working on a piece of wood like the one you’re doing.

    White Satin?

Now I found a deal on a 20 ga. I’ll have to get out more so they both get used.

    VERY portable sxs 12ga

For some reason, even though I like shotguns, I don’t see myself buying this one, Ever.

    Your favorite pheasant O/U

I love these threads. Invariably someone mentions a gun I haven’t considered. Sometimes it’s something I’ve tried and hated so it’s nice to see it working for someone else. Sometimes it’s a gun that many people complain about but here the owner loves his. Good stuff!

    Your favorite pheasant O/U

My favorite was a SKB Waterfowler that I had to sell 20 years ago following my divorce. Seems I couldn’t miss a bird with that gun. But now after trying a bunch of different guns, my favorite is a Citori White Satin 12 ga. It feels like an extension of myself.
