I got a Badlands Huron upland coat this fall when it went on sale to 70 from 189. Im extremely impressed with it. Im wearing it everywhere. I hunted this weekend with this over a merino wool long sleeve and it was 10 above. Ive worn it once when it was snowing and it is water resistant like...
From our extremely limited deer/turkey license lotteries to our pheasant opening time to our bounty on coon and skunk tails, nothing the SD GFP does lines up with science or reasoning.
The problem in SD is season doesnt open until 10. You get 1.5-2 more awesome hours in IA than SD this time of year.
I know because I just shot a limit in IA this morning and will likely do the same tomorrow!
SD needs to open earlier, maybe a season adjusts an hour earlier on Dec 1st?
The bargain cave in the Mitchell Cabelas used to be awesome. Enter Bass Pro, bargain cave is gone. That store sucks now. Crap for ammo in stock. In theory, a gun store shouldnt be able to exist a block away, but last I knew there was a large one there
The lace up 800 g thinsulate ones. Anyone tried them? I like the looks of them and the price is tight at 100 bucks. If they last 2-3 winters theyd be worth it. If you have them, are they true to size?
Dont retire that. Ive had a pair of gloves since 1999, and I wont turkey hunt without them. Theyre full of holes, but ai know i cant shoot a bird without them.
Had to laugh at this being at the top of the posts. I just did the sideways shuffle praying the pit toilets were open all year in a state park. Sure is windy out there…..
This has happened with a couple guns. One ive shot for 23 years. The other I just got done dropping-it’s new. It seems like a mental thing that I’m not recognizing the rise in the bird. I didnt miss today, but bird wasnt dead and wasnt found. Young dog isnt seasoned on finding downed birds...
Been having trouble shooting under birds lately. I know damn well Im shooting underneath them, and is worse when im not expecting a flush. Starting to mess with my mind. What do you do mentally to remind yourself to essentially cover the bird and shoot without seeing it?
I dont know whats been the oddest because non seem crazy to me but in my time behind shorthairs ive had deer, turkey, coyote, coon, skunk (i kicked it), mouse, rabbit, grasshopper, butterfly, and just tonight a house fly.
Well they would last forever for my dog then. My gsp makes sure she hits fences with her shoulders, ass, back legs, or the rear belly area. Anything not covered by a vest.
