At that distance, blocking or not, I would be shooting LM first shot, and then IM, with either #5 or #6 shot for the additional lead in the air and pattern density.

Lab, I question that myself at times. I order the clear lenses in the three pack to always have a good lens handy. These are from Friday. You can see a long ventricle scratch on the right side. He ran into a fence and when he went under it the barb went right up the lens and over his head.

Those are Rex Specs and doesn’t bird hunt without them. This is a lens after three hours. They are worth every penny. I even have smoked/mirrored lenses for the boat in the summer.
