I have hunted Kansas since 2010. The farmers that allow me to hunt their ground say its not worth the trip this year, it's that bad. Dry and not any birds compared to last year. So my question is, I'm considering other states. N. Dakota, S. Dakota, or Iowa. I'll be taking my 17 year old son...

Hello. I'm thinking about hunting Iowa this Fall for pheasants with my 17 year old son. I'm looking at the Cherokee area. More than likely hunting walk in areas but will definitely look around and ask to hunt private if possible. Is anyone on this page from around the area? Just looking for options.

Same in Utah. Pheasant hunting is all but gone here.

Funny thing is, residents of South Dakota are saying pheasant numbers are way down there as well. Go figure.

This year my wirehair was pointing about 20 to 1 hens to roosters and lots of quail. People ask me why Kansas as well. I've got good contacts there and Utah sucks, that's why.
