I shot a late winter rooster with a load of lead 4's at 25 yards. Hit him hard enough that his flight changed direction. Dropped with the 2nd barrel at 40 yards. Took 30 minutes to find him in a snowed in alfalfa field. He was buried like a arrow.

I have hunted other weims at that temp with no problems. This particular dog has the thinnest coat of any weim I have ever owned. His siblings aren't that way.

I posted that I hunted yesterday in about the same temp and for the 1st time ever my weim showed symptoms of it being too cold. Wind is supposed to be stronger today so I am probably not going out.

Went out with my buddy on his ground. Hunted a hour and got our 3 each. Had 2 nice recoveries on winged birds. We both ran 1 dog. First time of have ever had my weim actually act cold. He was all business when into birds and retrieving.
