    Pheasant Fest

If they were there with guns it must have been a small booth because we walked the show 4-5 times over 2 days and never noticed them??

Boss Unmuzzled Bismuth load dissection and pattern performance for pheasants

Remy, the reason we shoot them is we hunt 100% public land and with most public land being Non-tox we wanted to find something that worked well and wouldn't require switching shells from lead to non-tox if going from walk-in/Ihap/WIA land to state & federal ground.

Boss Unmuzzled Bismuth load dissection and pattern performance for pheasants

I am not sure if you have ever shot Boss in the field or were just doing this for data? But I can tell you first hand that out of a 20ga or 28ga Boss #5's, 4's & 3/5 combo are lethal on pheasants!! The group of guys I hunt with on a regular basis usually 5-7 guys over the course of the season...

    Pheasant Fest

Browning was there and we didn't even bother stopping because they never have anything new other than a new camo pattern on the same old guns. I wish Beretta would come one year! In all the years I have been there they have yet to show up, which is strange as Benelli is always there and they are...

    Pheasant Fest

I was there Thur-Sat and had a great time. Thursday night we went to the Film Fest at the Pourhouse, and friday night we went to the Live Flush podcast and the OnX afterparty. Hoping next year to attend some of the other nightly activities including the national banquet.

    Boot Cleaner & Leather Conditioner

Like others have stated it depends on the boot. Kenetrek recommends using their oil as it is different then Obenaufs in the ingredients because Kenetrek uses a different leather. I have no complaints on the Kenetrek oil on their boots, I have 2 pairs one is 7 years old the other is 5 years old...

    28ga

I shoot my A400 28's 90% of the season, and the other 10% is my A400 20. No issues with bringing birds down. A couple guys I hunt with are in the same boat as me, we love carrying a 28 around vs something bigger and heavier.

Do you shoot coyotes while pheasant hunting?

I shot 2 this year in SD and probably 5 total in the 28 years I've been going out to SD to hunt. No shortage of them around my house here in MN, they are coming into residential areas and grabbing small dogs from people's backyards.

    Emergency Haying in SD

Curious what anyone that actually lives in SD knows about how the Emergency haying works? I have hunted in SD for over 25 years and the past couple years the haying has been extensive! Some of the ground whether CREP or Walk In has been hayed numerous years in a row. I know when a land owner...

What's the Consensus of Pheasant Hunters

All the guys I hunt with it's all we shoot. I shoot a 3/5 combo out of my 20ga and #4's & 5's out of my 28ga. When the time comes to need more shells for my 20 I will buy 5's for that as well. The nice thing about boss is it's copper plated bismuth so it's heavier than steel but not up to lead...

    SE SD not too bad….

We just returned from the same area of the state and had very similar results. Hunted Tues-Fri and the first 2 days were great with warm temps and soft snow, the last 2 days the dogs took a beating and it was tough walking. We saw plenty of birds and came home a few birds short of our 3 man...

What's the Consensus of Pheasant Hunters

Just got back from our annual SD trip hunting all public land and me and the 2 other guys I was with had no issues shooting birds with our 28GA's and boss #5's out of MOD or LMOD chokes out to 40yds. Like others have said the higher the gauge 20/28/.410 your shooting is going to have to be a...

Final Rise, Chief Upland, Marsupial, Q5

I have a Final Rise that I bought at Pheasant Fest last year in Omaha. Absolutely love it, I also have a wings works that it replaced which still looks new after 10 years but I wanted to try something new. I love the added pockets on the Final Rise and I also ordered mine with the shell pockets...

Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon 20GA ****SOLD****

I actually sold my A400 12ga to a friend last year as I never used it. I have moved to shooting strictly 20 & 28ga's, love the light weight and recoil.

Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon 20GA ****SOLD****

Looking to sell my Beretta 686 silver pigeon 20ga with 28" barrels. Gun has had 10 rounds through it and looks brand new. I bought it 2 years ago thinking I would use it and well sorry to say it just collects dust as I really enjoy shooting my A400 28ga. My loss is someone's gain as I will let...

    2022 Season

I was out in SD for our first trip a couple weeks ago, first day my lab got sprayed by a skunk and decided to fight with a barbed wire fence and lost. She put a nice gash in her upper back leg, no blood just a big gash. I put EMT gel on it every morning and night, took her in for stitches when I...

    Couldn't Resist!

Yea they don't exactly give them away, but that seems to be the case with any new gun especially Browning/Benelli & Beretta

    Couldn't Resist!

Boss has had them for a while probably the last 2 years or so. Not sure about other shell companies. As far as beretta this is their first 3" 28ga. Benelli has had one out for a while in the ethos.

    Couldn't Resist!

Will do, only difference in this new gun and my other 28ga A400 is the 3" chamber and the nickel receiver. I'm glad they finally came out a 3" so now I can shoot 3" bismuth #5's at 1 1/16 ounce loads. Can't wait!!
