    Emergency Haying in SD

Just returned from a scouting trip in the area we hunt, the last couple of years all the CREP land in the area was hayed or grazed 100%, this year it looks like everything was either left alone or if it was hayed it was only 50% so that's promising for the upcoming season. Did see a lot of birds...

    Boss shotgun ammunition

Both 2 3/4 & 3" out of my 28's. I've got a 2 3/4 A400 and the new 3" Upland A400 I bought early last season. No issues shooting birds late season with either.

    Boss shotgun ammunition

I shoot Boss and the guys I hunt with all shoot Boss and we love it, none of us have anything bad to say about it. I shoot a 20 & 28 all season on birds and have no issues even late season taking down birds with my 28ga.

    Local PF Banquets

Exactly! We never have allowed the use of CC's for raffle tickets, but we did in the past allow CC's to be run for cash at the door. This is still a grey area but sounds like we can still do it?

    Local PF Banquets

We already run our banquet at a Eagles club. Problem is the state of MN requires all non-profits to get their own gambling licenses for events like banquets. A lot of the new rules we need to follow have been around for years but never enforced and now they feel the need to come after...

    Local PF Banquets

Just as a heads up to anyone looking to attend a banquet this year or in the future. The state of MN gambling control board has started to come down hard on PF and other non-profit groups for how banquets are run, and the games offered. Basically, tying the hands of groups as to the games they...

    Boondocking

A buddy and me both sleep in the back of our suburban's. Place kennels on one side and nice sleeping cot/pad on the other with a sleeping bag. Has worked great the past coulple of years.

    CRP released.

That is the exact problem we have run into, especially when the fields are hayed 100%, all the hunters in that area need to go somewhere and it concentrates them on the remaining GPA's & WPA's which typically can't support that kind of pressure on a daily basis.

    CRP released.

If you go to the USDA website and look up the emergency haying & grazing, the counties in SD are very few as most counties don't meet the D2 or greater for drought. If my memory serves me correctly there were only like 3-4 counties that were listed. Be interesting to see if that means anything...

    Pheasant Fest

I would drive anywhere to attend, its after the season is over and gives me a good excuse to go and check out any new gear, guns, etc... Plus it's usually during winter and hell I would rather drive 8-10hrs to get out of the house for a extended weekend with the wife than sit and stare at the...

Pup will be ready for next years pheasant season

I pick up my new black lab puppy in the beginning of April. It will be my 3rd dog, luckily my oldest which just turned 14 is still around but her hearing is shot and her joints can't stand up to hunting anymore. This dog will be my 3rd different breeder and hopefully this will be another good...

Boss Unmuzzled Bismuth load dissection and pattern performance for pheasants

Bob- You would be really surprised at how effective a 28 is. It really isn't any different than a 20/16 or 12 you just loose some pellet count but if your on the bird your on it. I had no issues last year in SD late december after xmas taking down pheasants on public ground out to 40yds with my...

    Pheasant Fest

Here was the booth at SCI. I am guessing if Beretta had a booth at Pheasant Fest it would have been similar to Browning/Benelli... I don't think they will ever do something like this at Pheasant Fest as it's only shotguns and obviously SCI is the entire gun lineup.

Boss Unmuzzled Bismuth load dissection and pattern performance for pheasants

Bob - Yes we have all shot lead and tungsten and I guess I should have worded my response better. For the cost of the shell and not having to deal with the hassle of switching all the time if walking IHAP or WIA land and then hunting state or federal land it's a no brainer. I will say that yes...
