The most Beautiful Bird Hunting Boot ever

Well, guess I needed to have ordered a year ago when I was pricing them out, for true custom boots. That toe cover was one of the options I would not have skipped when expecting the boots to last a decade or more...that toe leather takes a ton of abuse walking in cover.

The most Beautiful Bird Hunting Boot ever

I thought these were a true custom deal, trace your foot and they made the boot that size/shape. I would love to try them, but maybe not the best idea right now. The Thorogoods I wore this season faired very well. So far, they look like maybe the best boot I have owned. I need to write a...

    Glad to be here

Welcome from Iowa, the land of little public hunting opportunities and shrinking private habitat.

    Party Hunting

Every once in while that does happen...if there is any questions, I will just let the other fella add it to their bag and keep going. Never a big deal.

    Lab guys sorry but....

I agree with BD on his point of "bird contacts". Get them out hunting and they will learn. I could care less about bloodlines, trophies, field trials etc. Teach them the basics and get them in the field. But, everyone has different expectations for a dog, mine needs to help me fill my game...

    Party Hunting

I have come to realize it is more fun for everyone to shoot their own birds. I may have been guilty of being a shooting hog, but I have changed and enjoy seeing everyone in a group get some success or get to keep trying after the ones paying attention have their birds. I didn't realize this was...

    Something Positive

Way to go Bob! The conservation groups must have volunteers to get anything done....those guys do not get paid. By joining and donating they can buy tools and supplies for volunteers to do the work. I love creating/improving habitat. Kudos Bob.

    CALL TO ACTION

They are still at it. Iowans, shoot of an email to your county House Rep. Use the link in post #8...I can't seem to repost an active link. I just shoot off another email, sounds like Plymouth county Rep is against this. This is the message I just sent: I trust our elected can defeat any of...

    PF Goes Pen-Reared....Again!!

A5, maybe you should contact PF and let them know what you have found, keep a running total of things you find unacceptable in their magazine and website. You could expound on how it diminishes the organization and their goals. Maybe they will take your concerns to heart and stop publishing...

    How many shells?

Yes, a bit sensitive when admitted public land hunters can't recognize or support the group that does more for them than any other. None of these groups can make much happen alone, throw your direct support (money) toward a group that supports habitat, especially if you aren't doing it on your...

    How many shells?

It is a good pic of a rooster pheasant PF purchased...are we next going to get ripping on the photographer who took the pic of such a abominable creature? PF creates habitat for not only wild pheasants, but all wildlife...if a farm raised rooster seeks refuge in such cover, I see no problem...

Pheasant Fact Friday - PF FB Repost

An interesting one yesterday...might have missed a few. I hope to get my young granddaughter out to hear this at the rooster ranch this spring.

    How many shells?

Would you fellas prefer to watch filmed pheasant hunts of groups of hunters in your public parcels??? Wonder if PF bought any more bird pics from that fella, or if they cared much about that....it may have been a random South Dakota bird.....sorry, I retract the last poke, I don't have strong...

    Shed hunting

I know a fella that really has an addiction for buck antlers. Admitted/convicted poacher it ends up. Had him hunting with me on a friend's farm, we come across a dead buck in switch grass. He fought and fought to get the head off that deer and take with him....he doesn't with me any more...

    Which Benelli Ultralight?

So the only reason you would buy the Ultra Light is the weight, right??? Don't burden yourself with the weight of that long barrel, captain has the right idea....smith that bad boy down to 20" and post the weight....you will start a trend that all the cool kids will be doing next. I picked...

    Let's Bitch (Can't Hunt)

I am about to the point of being a quiter, might drink a case or 2 of beer over a year. Just don't see the alure of drinking as an adult. I know many do, maybe like gambling or smoking, I just don't quite get those things either.

2024 National Pheasant Fest in Sioux Fall, who is going?

It was close to noon when we were in that area. It was packed in that arena where most of the dog breeds were. I saw they thought they had a record attendance for the event this year.
