Yes on both quail and pheasant. Great way to boost some numbers. If you get about 50% that live come season you did great.

I guide a lot of different states and birds a year and you’ll laugh but I have a Queensland heeler that is an amazing retriever for birds. Take her pheasant and quail hunting ( not with clients ) and she loves it. Could get the dog to retrieve I’m sure. But point birds is a slim chance to none...

I run garmins and never have had an issue with antennas. And I hunt 6 months a year.

I wish they would close mearns season for 3 years and let those birds come back a little. Arizona had good monsoon rains which they need but they need time to recover.

This year will be a good year for pheasant and quail from what I’ve seen. Hunt the cover next to that cut crp.

On a young dog just use vibrate continuously until you get what you want then shut it off. Try not to shock your dog as much as you can. Vibrate does wonders. Just have to figure out how to use it.

2-3 hours in morning then break for lunch then another 2-3 hours to finish off the day. I like to give a dog a rest day every 3rd day though.

Heading to Nebraska tomorrow to guide some early hunts later in the month, then off to Wyoming to guide there, then finally to Kansas to finish up the year. Will be a busy 6 months. Should be a really good year in Kansas.
