    talk me into a gun

I should also say that I held a Beretta A400 wood stock in 28 and a Benelli SBE in 28. It would be a hard choice to pick between those. Looked at a SBE and Franchi A3 in 20 ga as well. I don’t need one but they were nice.

    talk me into a gun

I’m out of town training. I went by a local place today and well a CZ Bobwhite G2 made its way home with me. Wood is plain but it handles nicely. Now I need to get out and get to shooting.

    talk me into a gun

I’m going to have to look around for someone who carries some double guns. Closest thing to me is BassPro. Local gunshop has guns the owner likes (semi autos). He uses a 3” 28 (Beretta and Benelli) for preserve birds. I’d use my Ithaca SKB 20 over that. But I’m planning to go to the same place...

What do you lose most often?

Never lost any but my old vest was horrible when I had to bend over to pick something up. Shells always fell out. Got a Dan’s vest and that stopped. Much deeper pockets.

    talk me into a gun

I’ve been looking at both on gunbroker. I like the Ugarthechea. I also like the Aya. I have never held one. Hoping to find one at some point to fondle. Spanish guns are nice. I did see a SKB recently that was nice. Until then, I may get a CZ or Tristar to scratch the itch. I can always...

After all this reading and looking, a 28 ga SxS is in my near future.

What do you lose most often?

I don’t want to use 3” 28. Might as well just use a 20. I’ve got good loads for 2 3/4” 28 ga and should be good to go. I’ll be doing some practice with it between now and next season.

What do you lose most often?

Thanks. I really want to take my Franchi 48 AL 28 next year. I have M, IM, F, IC chokes. Was planning on IM for the single barrel.

how do you handle different shells for mixed bag?

When I hunted places with quail and pheasant, I just started using 6 shot for everything. I don’t want to deal with two different loads for different birds.

    Backup guns

Always have a backup, except for last year and I learned my lesson. Last year, I was packing and decided I didn’t need anything other than my Beretta Silver Pigeon 20 ga. So that’s all I took. I mean, its a Beretta, what could go wrong? On day 3 of the hunt during the first walk, the safety...

Do you take a poke at the long range birds ?

I’m going to work with the farmer that leases the land to see if we can plant some sunflowers on some edges to see if we can boost the dove population. Just want to make sure it won’t have any deleterious effects on the soybeans or rice.

Do you take a poke at the long range birds ?

I have one of these but haven’t shot it yet. I had one years ago that I did shoot and wish I never sold it. The one I have now is a golden quail model (1 of 250). Its used, so I probably shouldn’t be so resistant to using it. I keep my eyes open for another one that I can hunt with without...

Do you take a poke at the long range birds ?

Then don’t respond. Just because I have some land now and work at it, doesn’t make me superior to anyone else. You act as if we should all pay homage to you for it. I see it as a privilege and responsibility to do it. It makes me happy and I do like it, but I don’t expect to get any kind of...

What wild game are you serving for the holiday?

I bought a Kinder’s poultry brine. I usually try to make my own, but I saw this and thought, why not. It was good and I would use it again. https://www.kinders.com/products/butchers-brine-kit?Title=Default+Title

    20 guage auto?

I agree there’s something special about the ones made in Belgium, but “not nearly” is a little bit of a stretch. The barrels are typically made of a different steel and are heavier. The machining on the screws is a little different. But they are still great guns. One thing I like about the...
