    Doing an inventory

An old thread, but I consider my vaults as my insurance policy. I have very one large and extremely heavy one from a bank, that was used for the safety deposit boxes, that one holds all the good stuff, zero worries with that one. The other is a large one from Scheels, anchored to the floor and...

    A sign of getting old.

I very seldom get cramps during the day, they are almost always at night. Now, I am almost looking forward to getting one and testing the condiment bottle on the head board!

    Advice needed-Hunting around Ruthven

In recent years snow has not been much of an issue during season, this year, it is a problem already. Ruthven, should have cattails around, that will be where the birds will be, due to all the remaining cover has blown full of snow. My advice would be to schedule again for next year for the...

    Gifts for hunters

Once, 20 years ago, one of our deer hunting group got turned around in a larger timber....bought him a compass...as a gag gift. I don't generally exchange gifts with adult men. But that is just me and I am getting old. Things are changing out there.

    Reloading manual

Get a Lyman, the newest edition for the powders that have come out recently. You might have find the older editions for older components. The powder manufacturers used to (and likely still do) have little softcover free manuals that you can find at gun shops and Scheels. Same with wad...

    Gifts for hunters

Handwarmers that don't fit inside your glove wouldn't do me much good, may hands are not in my pockets if I am hunting, that might not be that case with all. Buy memberships to PF! I have done that before for landowners where I hunt with good habitat.

Snowfall - It could get pretty tough out there

I see tomorrow is the only day in the extended forecast with a high temp above freezing. Over a foot of snow out there now. 32 days left in the Iowa season, decent chance my bird harvest is close to wrapped-up now. If we get a nice day with temps near freezing I might give them a quick...

    A sign of getting old.

On the positive side (a silver lining), with this pain, I hardly notice the pain in my left shoulder. Kind of like the neuropathy I seem to be having in my feet, my toes may get cold, but now I can't even tell!

Is that "rubbing with alcohol" on the outside or ingesting "rubbing alcohol"?

    Change of plans

Well, now for sure skip Iowa with another good blast of snow. There was more than most of the cover could handle before this one today.

My wife just googled it, say that the turmeric shouldn't be taken if you are on blood thinners....I might be on something like that. Probably in mega doses, to be avoided.

Pheasants Forever- SCAM or do they help upland hunters?

The local chapters near me have them in February and March. Not a lot else going on then, but there is a chance of weather. On the opener seems odd. I live in, work in and our ground is all in different counties. I always go to the county banquet where the ground is located. I have been to...

    A sign of getting old.

But they shoudn't be tearing the muscle! B-B, mine usually stop on their own within a minute. I am thinking when I drink a half gallon or so of diet mtn dew during the day, that seems to be the nights with cramps. More water, less dew could likely solve it.

    A sign of getting old.

Very early this morning, I wake to the worst cramp (charlie horse) I have ever had. I sometimes get somewhat painful cramps in my calf muscles at night, but this was about mid thigh, toward the inside and the pain was on a entire different level. I am a few hours short on my "myology degree"...
