I shoot a 20 ga montefeltro with a modified choke and a citori 725 20ga with mod/im. Haven't hunted alot with the citori and since I use the mod choke in the Benelli I figured it would work for the citori as 1st shot.

No trouble with the permission we're hunting the Lower Brule res. Just looking at getting out early and scouting around different areas and just wondering what everyone looks for. Basically food, water, and cover.

How do or what do you look for while scouting for pheasant? Get up early and drive around looking for birds I get. But are there certain areas you look for? Cut corn fields.

Same as I feel, one day may be a Benelli montefeltro 20ga with a 24" barrel next day might be my 20ga Browning 725 feather. Depends on the day and where I'm at.

I like using the large DeWalt tool totes. 1 is for my hunting gear, other I pack my street clothes in. Waterproof seal, wheels to easily move around and heavy-duty enjoy to sit on. I've used them for 3yrs and never had any problems with water or anything getting in them.

We've hunted the Lower Brule res for the last 12 yrs, never once had an ounce of trouble. License are kind of expensive at 500$ for upland hunting. The Grassrope area is an additional 50$ per day with only 20 hunters per day. There are lots of WIA areas and access to plenty of ground. Food plots...

Lacrosse makes several different styles of rubber boots that fit tight around the ankles that are great for walking the pheasant grounds. Try a few pairs on and you might be surprised.

Last yr I did things a little different, drove my dodge Cummins and pulled a trailer with a buddies 4 runner loaded on it. We hunt the Lower Brule res. Put all the gear in the bed of the truck traveling up there and then loaded up the 4 runner for our daily trips to different areas. 2 dog boxes...

Good results. I also have a model 59 Winchester given to me from my granddad. I've often carried it when I'm a place where lead can be used. I didn't think they were safe using steel shot due to the light weight barrel that is sleeved?

Open windows in a blind create black holes, turkeys notice that and shy away from my experience. Camo netting or something similar to cover the open window and then cut a slot for shooting thru seems to help. Turkeys are not smart, just very alert and great eyesight. One in a flock spots...

I'm not sure if you're going to really be able to tell a difference with drag thru brush and things but the sure help with keeping boots and your lower pant legs drier for sure. I bought the kennetrecks and really like them.
