Always have the back up gun in the truck with us. I worry more if we are staying in a hotel then I do out in the field. Maybe it will bite me one of these times but so far has been fine.

My hunting partner has one that each of the last two years. This year no big deal we were 30’ from it. Last year it entailed almost a mile walk for him back to where he put the last bird in his vest but he found it.

Nothing real consistent but I did lose truck keys one year. Luckily I always have back up set in truck after reading a story in middle of nowhere MT that lost his with no back ups.

Sounds like a buddy issue not a gun issue. Lots of posts on here over the years about gifts for hunting buds. Sounds like shooting lessons may be the most overlooked one I’ve never seen mentioned.
