    Bells on flushers

I don't have any trouble keeping track of my dogs, which is why I don't use a bell or a GPS collar. If you had any comprehensive skills you would have known that. Besides, we were talking about heavy, thick CRP in Iowa. Again no reading comprehension for you I guess. As far as a new thread...

    Bells on flushers

Bell wouldn't do me any good, I can't hear anyway. Once a dog is 100 yds away in the wind, no one is going to hear it. GPS is the way to go. It would also tell you if your dog is loaded up in someone's truck as it is being stolen and going down the road or if your dog is injured or has fallen...

    Bells on flushers

The Iowa CRP can make it hard to keep track of your dog. Pretty simple though, don't hunt that type of cover. For me, it simply isn't worth losing a dog 400 miles from home for me. I have considered getting a GPS collar for hunting the heavy thick CRP. But a bell on a flushing dog, no way.

    Montefeltro Likes/Dislikes?

If it's warm enough for short sleeve hunting, it is too hot to hunt with the dogs so I'm not going. Like I said, a midget could hunt with the Montefeltro. The Montefeltro has a very short length of pull. That is the complaint I have heard about the Montefeltro and Ethos. Tall guys have to...

    English cocker training

Swimming at 10.5 weeks and retrieving from land and water consistently at 5 months would not be progressing really fast but on a normal schedule. Not for sure what state you are in but in Kansas I would call Chad Betts. I have his number if you would like it. He usually takes the pups at 6...

    Montefeltro Likes/Dislikes?

Benelli always has a shorter LOP which is why I like them. I am 5'9" and the Montefeltro's fit me perfect. Both my Montefeltro's are right at 14 1/4. Even a midget could shoot the Monte. If you need a shorter length of pull you won't find a better fit than the Montefeltro or M2.

    Winans Retreiver Kennel

There are draw backs to everything and dogs can be injured in many ways. There are more positives to keeping dew claws on. Field trial people and Vets are coming around to this. There is a reason that the british breeders leave them on. We always left them on back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's...

    First Kansas Trip

Anywhere you find pheasant you will find some quail. As far as specific areas contact the KDWP. I wish this site would monitor hot spotting like the Upland Journal Forum.

    Winans Retreiver Kennel

My dog was bred at Riverview Farms and trained at Winans Retriever Kennels and he wears dew claws. Makes you wonder how coyotes can survive. It isn't a big deal and more and more field trail people are leaving then on nowadays.

    Hand Signals

    That's my point.

    Hand Signals

Hand signals and getting a dog to take an over right or left, back, and stopping on a whistle is a long lengthy training process. Much different than motioning a dog one way or the other and the dog going that way part of the time. Handling the dog requires a whistle sit, looking the handler...

    Montefeltro or Ethos ?

None of those have Benelli's new forearm, new buttstock, new receiver, or new trigger guard. And they may have the old bolt system. You have to go the Montefeltro or M2 I believe. I think they left the silver as is.

    Montefeltro Likes/Dislikes?

I didn't know that they had a new version of the Silver. I thought they remained the same.
