True, but my first 5 years or so were spent with two of us in my gen. 1 forerunner. Next 10 in Nissan hard bodies. Now still a long bed/double cab Nissan frontier or my Tacoma. A little tight coming and going but perfect to hunt out of.

I Understand, I had a 58 also. It was a 20. I never had a problem with good shells, and it was a little lighter but have read that they weren't as reliable as the 48's. My brother has a 20 gauge 58 he's had for probably 40 years. Grandkids shoot clay with it now with no problems. To each his own...

My buddy bought a slightly used f 150 with the newer 9 speed transmission. It went out at 20000 miles. Still under warranty thank goodness.

That's awesome. My daughter ask me a couple years ago if I wanted to buy her low miles early 2000's Taho. I'm still kicking myself for not buying it. Size wise about perfect for two guys and 2-4 dogs.

The inertial price is nothing when you start adding up the vet bills. Those dam flea/tick/heartworm stuff alone will break you up.

Totally agree. I think sometimes your born with it or learn it by example. Other times it comes from age. And some never acquire it.

Get on gunbroker and look for Remington 11-48's or 11-58's. I think we discussed this not long ago on another thread. There is a very nice 1148 with a polychoke on there now. People po po the polychokes but believe me they work pretty danged well. I've been outshot by one before and the best...

Probably but, I have witnessed dogs' reason. A brilliant beagle my dad had in the seventies. And one of the dogs that would often break out and circle pheasants. We once hunted him in a place we had hunted many times. Probably a mile of unproductive ground with ditch lines and wood edges before...

Not that this is common either, but I have seen a couple big running dogs that would track for a while, then if you would be fairly close to an edge, they would pull out and run hard down the edge. Sometimes for a long way. Then cut in and hunt back to you. Sometimes it worked like a charm...

Maybe I could sneak up on those ones.
