    Trailer grease

My dog rides in backseat. But I also bring crate in pickup bed. A skunk sprayed dog riding in backseat for 15 hours is a nightmare.

    Harvest already starting

Price has no effect on harvest timing. Crop condition is everything. When she’s ready you better go get her. The window for optimal harvest is small and goes the other way quick. That hurricane that came up last year is a great example. Beans molding in the pods and corn on the ground. It...

    Harvest already starting

My corn is ahead of beans this year. Should make it to Michigan for grouse opener though. Reckon I’m 2 weeks from rolling

    Soybean price helps habitat

Farmer here, not real tickled about the price of soybeans but, been a long time since I’ve seen so many wheat stubble fields not double cropped with soybeans. They’re getting weedy and wooly. Lots of cover we don’t normally get.

    Is it really an upgrade?

I’ve spent a lot of money on guns ammo gear dogs and trips. The rest I just wasted. The Final Rise has such a great rep at this point, and if you don’t want/like it I firmly believe it won’t last more than 2 days in classifieds on here. At the same price you pay for it.

    Dog Retrieves Trout

Jameson Parker of Simon and Simon fame(also a noted bird dog enthusiast)tells a story where he and his dog were invited to a big fancy shoot to retrieve and caught his dog sneaking into the next shooters pile and bringing them to his pile. “You want birds? I’ll bring you birds”. Datus Proper

    Fall speculation

Hoping on Michigan for grouse, missed it last year. I have to go opening weekend or not at all. I’ll be back in SD after crops are in. I plan on drifting with the wind, hunt here, move on, hunt there.

Cooking Own Meals at the Motel

Big thumbs up to Zatarains Jambalaya, Red beans and rice, etc.. Super easy prep, super good, great with Phez. and cottage cheese. I cut up phez and throw straight into the pot and cook all at once. 2 boxes, tub of cottage cheese will feed 6 hungry men. Any leftovers get mixed with scrambled...

    Knee Surgery Question

Knee scoped in 1989 as seventh grader. Even that young it was years before I felt 100 and wore a brace when playing sports. To this day I occasionally get pains. They come and go. Cartilage and meniscus floating around I reckon. No brace will negate the pain but does provide mental...

    Kuiu vest

I did the same thing. Bought Both and will choose this season. Weight goes to FR just barely. Kuiu gets the nod for storage, as stated it’s like a backpack. Shell pockets go to FR, deep and magnet closure. Game pouch seems close will know more in season. FR should shine in warmer temps...

    Most Satisfying Shot

We boys was running the creek in the summer and I shot a rooster around 100 yds away with a Mossberg 151m 22 open sights. Great shot bad decision.
