Federal, CCI, Speer and Remington Ammunition

I was just a wee lad back in '08, but even I remember panic buying when Obama got elected. And after every school shooting. Toilet paper. Hand sanitizer. Bullets. It's all self inflicted by hysteria. Here's a pro tip. If you believe in ammo companies, BUY THEIR STOCK! Business will be booming...

just returned...final trip???? and a fashion tip!

I was in SD the same days as you, but got outta there when the weather turned. Cattails sure had birds, but it was just me and the dogs and all the dumb roosters are dead. Shot two roosters over the pup, so it was all gravy for me. The old dog did her thing and put me on the birds that sat...

    CZ Drake over under

Had one and sold it. Heavy trigger, sticky safety, very mediocre quality. Find a used "B" for a few hundred bucks more is a better option. Mine was a 20, and my 686 in 12 gauge is more enjoyable to shoot.

    Best breed for finding cripples

Teaching dogs to track is a blast, and also super useful. I'd say that when pheasant hunting the upper midwest, my dogs are in thick enough cover that they only mark 50% of the time. And most birds are shot over points! I usually have to manually get my dog to the AOF, then let her do her...

    Best breed for finding cripples

If you asked me to buy a bird tracking dog sight unseen, it would have to be a drahthaar. Reason being, those dog's aren't even bred unless the dam and sire have shown ability to track. Highest chance of success, if you ask me. Tracking is different than marking. Labs take the cake there, no...

Well ... SW MN is a little depressing

We passed on LOTS of birds last weekend because they were so small we dare not shoot. I'm guessing this weather has done them in.

    Anyone got some grouse/chickens tips?

No kidding. 100 degree high down to a high of 70. Quite the swing.

    Anyone got some grouse/chickens tips?

If the weather man is right (LOL!), then there's a few days coming up that might be worth the long drive down. Hmmmmmm

    new dog vest

You're right. Maybe you're not a troll. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however silly it might be. 1) Waste of money: vest is $30. Surgery for barbed wire cut is $300+ 2) Dogs are tough like football players. Football players wear pads. Can you think of a better analogy? 3) What would a...

    Lake Sakakawea - Grouse

Is anyone else doing grouse opener around Lake Sakakawea? I'm thinking of renting a campsite on the NE side of the lake, and trying my luck for grouse and huns. Never hunted this far west, or for sharpies specifically, but I'm getting restless and wanna hunt! Biggest worry is heat and snakes...

    MN grouse hunters...

I was up in SNF west of tofte. First time ever walking for grouse. I noticed that some old trails/logging roads have pink ribbon or Styrofoam plates placed on the entrance. At first I thought it meant someone was walking it. However I noticed that the same 'markers' were there for a couple...
