    Poor man’s quail

Do you travel a ways to chase timberdoodles? In the cover we chase them, you need to remove one trigger and cut those barrels back a ways. When the flight is down, we kill way too many accidentally stepping on them and watch them cough up worms. Got bait? 😁

    Tail Length

Years ago SD held an annual long tail contest, longest ever recorded 28.5” Uncle Mike is really close. We used to count rings, but high ring counts did not always equate with the longest tails. Genetics

    Looking for a New O/U

Last time I hunted with Santa, he was shooting a Beretta 687 20ga. 28” barrels with English stock and upgraded wood. Maybe he was field testing the gun for you Britt, check for light scratches. If it doesn’t fit you, please reply back to him and drop the name Birddude.😁

    Dogs over 10

Librela has been very effective controlling the pain of OA. Some dogs might not need injections as often as others. Owners need to judge the frequency of injections. Takes the place of NSAIDS. Keep up the glucosamines.

    Dogs over 10

Glucosamine is an OTC drug and very well tolerated by dogs, results vary. Quite a few meds can help MILD cases of OA. It is hard to overcome poor conditioning, aging and genetics. I want to die chasing chukars at 90 years of age. 😊

    Sub-Zero Temps Worth The Trip?

Might be easier to just hunt out of a SnoBear. As I get older, I think bird hunting should be fun, not just survival. We have lost out on several trips to NoDak with I-94 closing due to blizzards. Be safe.

Would like your insight on a purchase for pheasant hunting

I always carry an inexpensive solid Flo orange vest as an extra, for a new shooter or hunt during the WI deer season. Couple of hats, too.

    Antique road show

I’m with Murph, early 1990s. Close to same age too, mid 70s. I’ve had the same cell number since 1988, not a bag phone, but a brick phone.

    Saw another 105# dog.

I enjoy people that really appreciate their dogs. Only love you will ever buy.

    Saw another 105# dog.

My friend’s dad was a small town barber in North Dakota, a local philosopher of sorts. After having a number of labs, he noted that labs mature fast, but don’t develop a brain until they were four years old. 😁

    Tail Length

Years ago, I remember a long tail contest in SD statewide. The longest ever officially was 28.5” for a ringneck. Now there are hybrids at game farms, Reese X is one and tails typically in the high 30’s. We covered this topic a year or two before. Genetics. I don’t harvest more than 10-12...

Actually coat heavily with Cajun seasoning and deep fry. Excellent tailgating appetizer. Try it.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

If you had not witnessed the high line death, would it still have happened? Every day it does somewhere and the warden doesn’t care how, just not you in possession. Remember, the dog ate my homework.
