O/U? 7.5s in the open choke, 5s in the tighter chokes. For me it was 7.5s in my left vest pocket, 5s in my right.

    Barbed Wire - Training

Seems like when I run into the woven wire stuff, it's usually in old fence lines. Don't think I've ever seen shiny woven; it's always beat down rusty stuff from years gone by. It's problematic for sure.

I like Longshot. It's available and I buy in quantity on sale at $30/lb. Only minor gripe is that it seems to shoot a little dirty.

Look I really need help on this one

You already know the answer. Put on your comfortable boots, grab a nice lightweight shotgun and a pocket full of light shells (dare I suggest a 5.5 pound 28ga Ethos? 😂) find some decent cover and just go follow your dog. it is it’s own reward. As a side note, I find following one dog at a time...

    Ammo prices

Ammo is inflating like everything else we buy now. The problem is wages are pretty stagnant. Especially for those of us retired/on a fixed income. I don’t see it changing any time soon. So now I just shoot my 28 for trap and skeet. I can reload 16 boxes of 28 clay loads for $120, a bit over $7...

Here's a Titewad load for Fiocchi hulls using Cheddite primers. (Which have become favorites because 1. they're available and 2. they are lower priced.) Pretty low pressure which I like. I really like the Hodgdon site.

    Chokes matter?

Of course, you need to pattern your shotgun with the loads you use.

Looking for a new to me 28 gauge. Reccomendations.

You are questioning the ability of a 28ga to put down a rooster DRT at 15 yards. If you have trouble killing a pheasant at 15 yards with a 28ga (even with 7/8oz of 5s ) it’s not a problem with the gauge. There’s gotta be another reason. Gun fit? Are you a tall guy shooting a short stocked...

No, you just need to be on target.

Looking for a new to me 28 gauge. Reccomendations.

So Goose, when shooting the 20ga Winchester Super X 1oz of #5s @ 1220fps versus the Winchester Super X 28ga 1oz of #5s @ 1205fps, is it the extra bore diameter of .065” that the 20ga (.615”) has over the 28ga (.550”) that gives the 20ga another 10 yards of maximum range? Or is it the extra...

Just curious. What would say is the absolute max range for these:

Ways to prepare huns for the table?

Never ate one but I did shoot one at an English shoot. Here's a couple recipes off the 'net https://www.jamesmartinchef.co.uk/recipes/partridge-bourguignon/ https://harvestingnature.com/2016/11/16/dijon-roasted-hungarian-partridge/

What the KDWP Blames It On

I believe the answer to the first question is No, KDWP and NRCS have no idea who is in compliance. Not enough people on the payroll to check and a low priority anyway. Basically, they don't care. The second question relates to the first. If nobody is checking, you can bet it's bare as a baby's...

    Bacon Ranch Pheasant Burger Sandwich

There isn't a recipes section but there is a recipe topic in the Lounge. https://forum.ultimatepheasanthunting.com/threads/favorite-pheasant-recipe.16822/ It would be easy for Webguy to make it a sticky at the top of the Lounge though.
