Any tips to get my lab to stop digging besides a shock collar? I know it works but she is doing at times I can't see her or catch her digging.

I am feeding my german wirehair/lab who is 10 months old purina pro plan for dogs under 1 year old. My question is can I mix or add something else with it to make it more filling for her? She is constantly on the search for more food as soon as she is done eating. We are giving her 3.5...

    Email problems

I was having the same problem so I changed my email when it finally asked me to enter my email address. I have 2 emails so that worked for me. I still don't know why the original email stopped being accepted butl I started using my gmail address and haven't had anymore problems.

    Ticks

I either use permetharine or 3M ultrathon but I have forgotten to put it on a few times and found ticks on me after a walk with Maggie., even back in March.

    Ticks

Be very careful outside, the ticks are out in force this year. I have picked off more ticks on myself then any other year that I can remember. Make sure the pups are treated for them because otherwise they will be loaded with them.

Here is a strange tip I heard.

We tend to do better around picked corn fields that haven't been plowed under. I have never really thought about the beans vs corn debate but thru the years we have almost always done better around corn fields. With that being said I have shot roosters with there crop stuffed with beans. I guess...

    1330 fps

I was just the opposite, I never paid any attention to what i put in my 12 or 20 and I went pheasant hunting a lot and hit and lost many birds. I would doubt that I even had any idea what size I was using on any given day. Move forward 35 or so years and it's a new era, I always pattern...

Thanks for all the advise on the vest. She is only 7 months old but she already has a half season behind her. She has pheasant and quail both under her belt but she is still a babe in the woods. She has a strong pointing instinct but she still needs more time to fully develope. She definitely...

    20 gauge ammo for quail

I'm in Iowa and you can use lead on IHAP as long as it dosen't have a sign saying otherwise but almost all state areas are non toxic.

    20 gauge ammo for quail

I ended up ordering the Winchester AA Diamond in the 7.5 shot. Thanks for all the input and hopefully they pattern good. I will pattern them out to about 35 yds to see how they do before season. I have used the 20ga Rem Nitro target 7/8oz load and they worked great but they are a bit pricey.

It sounds like the Winchester AAs are a winner. I will definitely pattern them this year.
